Lucy shares her overwhelming joy and surprise at winning the award, stating, “I was up for two awards but I never expected to win either. I was so shocked when my name was called out!” This accolade is a testament to her dedication and innovative approach to personal styling, which goes beyond mere aesthetics.
Redefining Personal Styling
Lucy has been challenging the conventional perceptions of personal styling, emphasizing that it is not just about vanity and shopping. Instead, she advocates for a more thoughtful and personal approach. “Body-confidence is at an all-time low, wardrobes are overflowing, and fast fashion is ruining our planet,” Lucy explains. Her philosophy is rooted in promoting self-awareness and body confidence alongside sustainable fashion choices, such as preloved and vintage clothing, as well as making the most of what we already have.
The award recognises Lucy’s efforts to blend style with sustainability, encouraging her clients to feel amazing in a wardrobe that doesn’t cost the Earth. She adds, “It’s time we made friends with our bodies again, defined our own style and sourced it sustainably.”
A Vision for the Future
Lucy’s recognition from the sustainability community is fuelling her drive to further integrate eco-friendly practices into her services. She is planning to introduce new workshops, clothes swaps, and continue championing her clients’ creativity. Her goal is to disrupt the fashion industry by empowering individuals to forge their own trends.
